About

Welcome to Turbo4.com.  This is a web site for our Turbocharged 4G63 4 cylinder dragster and 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX.

My father (Bob) and I (Tony) began this dragster project in December of 2007.  It all started with my 95 Eclipse GSX competing in NOPI’s Power Street category.  My father (a long time bracket racer) was impressed with the power of the little 4 cylinder and enjoyed the heads up racing NOPI had to offer.  The Eclipse however, was plagued with driveline problems while trying to run very deep into the 10′s on street radial tires.

The solution?  Build a car that utilizes the same 4 cylinder power plant that has a driveline that can handle whatever the little motor can throw at it.  We ordered a chassis from Ken’s Kustom Chassis and my dad and I completed all the assembly and fabrication required since then in his garage.  It’s been a long journey and the first car of this caliber either of us have had a hand in.  It’s all been worth it though.

In 2009, we went from initially starting the car to matching our Competition Eliminator index (7.30) in just 20 passes.  There is a lot left in this combination and we plan on extracting it all.

The Eclipse is still around although it doesn’t have a major series to race in so a majority of our effort goes into the dragster.  I hope to have more updates on the Eclipse in 2014.

Thanks for reading,

Tony

Nice! Good work. Check out my engine builder’s website vwparadise.com. They have a pretty cool 4 cyl. dragster too.

The 4G63 is such a great powerplant. I’d love to see a 8G63 ;-) with twins. 2000hp anyone?

    But great job.

Great to see how the 4G63 gets some more exposure. How much boost are you guys running?
